Von Dutch was created in the early 2000s by Michael Cassel and Robert Vaughn. The brand is named after Kenny Howard, a motorcycle mechanic and artist who was famous for his talent as a pinstriper and neo-Nazi beliefs who went by the nickname Von Dutch. In the mid-2000s, French designer Christian Audigier took over the brand as creative director and helped get the brand’s garments, particularly its trucker hats on the heads of the biggest stars in Hollywood. Although the brand is most famous for its hats, Von Dutch also produces hoodies and T-shirts.
